Having just finished Amped, are you a pre-planning note-taker or if you prefer to just dive into your writing and work out some of the side details and back stories as they come to you?

Both. I try my best to get a sense of the overarching plot before I begin, but I usually don't figure the entire novel out until I'm well past the halfway point, which is very scary.
