What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Kyle Alexander Romines The best advice is simple--write!

There's a lot that goes into a published book: editing, submitting to agents and publishers, working with the publisher to create a finished product, and marketing and publicizing the book. But you can't do any of that until you have a completed manuscript.

The good news is the more you write, the easier it becomes. You develop a feel for narrative structure, dialogue, and characters. The Keeper of the Crows, my first published book, was my FOURTH finished manuscript. It took me that many tries to get to the point where I was ready for publication--and I'm still growing as a writer.
