Lori I would definitely read Winter Street before Winter Stroll.
Barbara Schultz I am currently reading "Winter Stroll" and although is not necessary to read "Winter Street" first, it sets up the characters. Plus "Winter Street" is a delightful, fun & fast read. I suggest reading it first.
Diana Davis I would definitely read the first book Winter Street before taking on Winter Stroll. You get each of the character's story. Though you may be fine just reading the 2nd book, personally I like to go into a story knowing about the first story.
Pamela I have never touched another work by Elin Hilderbrand prior to cracking Winter Stroll a few days ago. I am sure that meeting the Quinn's from the beginning would add to the storyline, I do not feel as if I am lacking any connections with them having not met them before. The previous books may amplify the connection to the family but Winter Stroll is capable of standing alone as well.
Patricia I would. I made a mistake and read them out of order
MaryTR Believe it or not, I started with Winter Solstice, not realizing it was part of a series. As soon as I did, I ordered the three previous books and started over. Sadly, though, I ended up inadvertently having gotten a lot of spoilers that way :(

Winter Street is a fast read and lots of fun. So I definitely would recommend starting at the beginning. I think you will understand the characters much better that way. Do you have to? Nope... even starting on Book 4, I was able to piece together the back story enough to keep up. But why deprive yourself of a fun holiday read?
Priscilla I would start, and read the three books, in order. I didn't, and it was a bit confusing, and sort of ruins the first two books if you read the third one first.
Lisa Coburn I read Winter Stroll without reading Winter Street first and had no problem picking up the story line and getting pulled in.
Carrielynn Joann, I picked up this book at my local library as it was a new release. I had NOT read the previous book, and did not find it necessary. Would I know more of the backstories? Sure ... but the author did a good job of filling in the blanks, so NO, you don't need to read the first book first.
However, I did enjoy this book well enough to perhaps go back and read if for myself sometime in the future. Enjoy!
