Though all of my books are Gothic Romance, or Gothic Suspense, the Brides of Thornehaven series most closely mimics that of the Vintage Gothic Romance of the 1960's and 1970's. The only thing missing is the painted picture of the woman running from the castle. The plot, however, is completely original. As to how I came up with it, I just brainstormed until I was convinced that I had something worthy of paying homage to the era.
