Does the series get better? Because I am about half way through the first book and I'm not sure if it is worth the effort to finish it.

I did enjoy the main plot but the JR character is not very deep and is a total sexist, no reason at all to have any sympathy for him. I also read a later book in the series in hopes that the author's writing would improve. It didn't. (less)
