In your recent book tour visit in LaGrange, IL, you mentioned that you are not really able to control the cover of your books, which got me to thinking: What DO you think of the Amulet of Samarkand's cover?! Is that at ALL how you pictured Bartimaeus in your mind or did they TOTALLY screw it up?! Thanks for considering my question--it was great to hear both you and Eoin speak about your writing!

Hello Kristin! Thank you for your message, and thanks for coming to LaGrange! Eoin and I really enjoyed our visit there. I think the US cover for Amulet is very striking, and it's clearly a good cover as it's been kept for more than 10 years. It isn't how I personally see Bart myself, though. I think it's just a little too sinister. But it's very hard to get it right.

Afraid I probably won't get to Hollow Boy today as want to refresh my memory of SS & WS first (which I'm doing now!) but I have one question, if I may. You might well have heard of an online role playing game called World of Warcraft, which I play. The upcoming new part to it features Demon Hunters and their lore reminds me of djinn... Might I ask your permission to call mine Bartimaeus? Please? x

I have always wanted to be a YA/MG author, and lately I have become interested in pursuing a career as an editor of YA/MG books. Would you say that working as editor helped you as an author? And do you have any advice for someone, such as myself, who is interested in becoming an editor? Thank you for writing such amazing books, I'm a huge fan of both Bart and Lockwood, and I can't wait for The Hollow Boy!
