My favorite author is Christopher Isherwood. I never tire of reading him. Most people know him as the author of novellas that were published together as THE BERLIN STORIES, and these were later made into the play "I Am A Camera" and then into the musical and then movie "Cabaret." Isherwood wrote novels in England and in America; he wrote memoir; he wrote books about Vedanta; he wrote wonderful letters and diaries, now published in multiple volumes; and he wrote about his travels. Of all his books, my favorite is his first book of autobiography, which is called CHRISTOPHER AND HIS KIND. Close second would be a very slim novel, really a novella, called PRATER VIOLET. It's about working for a director on a film and it's absolutely haunting.

Hello Mr. Schwalbe. My name is Valeria Mafra, I'm 18 years old and I read your book Books For The Living, top-notch book by the way. Anyways In your book you said something about questions, and how you said you made most of your questions in High School and whatnot. I have a question for you since you're wise and all. Is it okay that I don't know what I want to do in the future? I'm honestly really confused atm.

Do you have a comprehensive list of the books mentioned in The End of Your Life Book Club? I have a personal goal to read them all, if I live that long. I did notice that you started a group here on Goodreads and that the book shelf has 1 book, Crossing to Safety. I would love to get that book shelf updated and will help if you have no one else to do it. I am from Melbourne Fl - 33 miles north of Vero Beach
