Do you have a comprehensive list of the books mentioned in The End of Your Life Book Club? I have a personal goal to read them all, if I live that long. I did notice that you started a group here on Goodreads and that the book shelf has 1 book, Crossing to Safety. I would love to get that book shelf updated and will help if you have no one else to do it. I am from Melbourne Fl - 33 miles north of Vero Beach

I'm so happy you found the list. Some are of the books mentioned in the back may not be ones you'll want to read as it's a list of absolutely any book mentioned for any reason. As you read, if you tell me what you are liking, I can suggest others. Oh, and what a marvelous idea! I would love your help updating that book shelf. That's so kind. And how cool about living in Melbourne. As you know from my book, my mother LOVED Vero Beach and I do, too. I've been back several times and will be back there on tour for my new book, I hope.

I loved The End of Your Life Book Club and was inspired to read several of the books you discussed with your mom during her illness. I want to thank you for bringing Crossing to Safety by Wallace Stegner into my life. It is one of the most beautiful novels I have ever read and I don't know that I would have discovered it otherwise. Are there any other hidden gems with writing that exquisite that you could recommend?

I recognized the description of Chris Maxey in the short review in "The New Yorker" of WE SHOULD NOT BE FRIENDS. Your memoir is about Maxey who started Island School? I look forward to reading your memoir, as my son was there in Fall 2007 when Eleuthera took an almost direct hit from Hurricane Noel. The students had so much respect for (combined with a bit of fear of) Maxey. Island School was life-changing for Seth.
