Cintia
Cintia asked Elizabeth Camden:

Hi, my name is Cintia and I'm from Argentina. Being a writer is what I want the most in this world, nothing makes me happier than writing, but I'm more and more frustrated with each passing day, because I've been blocked for 3 years. And it is not that I have an unfinished story. I have NOTHING AT ALL. A blank page in front of me, that only makes me sadder... Is there a way to overcome this? How do you handle it?

Elizabeth Camden Welcome, Cintia..... I'm not sure where you are in your writing journey, but I like a quote from Nora Roberts, who said that she could fix garbage, but she could not fix a blank page. So start writing! Butt in chair, computer warmed up, and bang out 300 words in the next hour. Maybe simply forcing yourself to write will get the juices flowing again.

When I'm facing writer's block, I also enjoy reading my very favorite authors. It is hard not to be inspired and excited by wonderful writing, and it makes me eager to get back to the computer.

Three years? Really? Just start writing, Cintia. Trying to envision a whole novel can be paralyzing, so just start writing. Don't worry if the setting or plot isn't perfect.....just start!
