Goodreads asked Brenda Segedin:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Brenda Segedin I'm not a prolific writer… I write from within… what I feel and most times, I astound myself. You can write when you are able, fit it around family and work. You have to be able to accept rejection from the publishing companies. I was told by one in respect of the book now published, 'That it was a great idea.' Honey, it's a reality… cancer… and cancer in children is a reality.

Many publishing companies, I found, wanted to direct what they believed people wanted to read therefore I received nine rejections from different companies. The advice I then received from other writers, was do it yourself. The response to my book in less than a month has been overwhelming.

Trust in the book and yourself. It took 12 years to be published, but it is now done.
