Goodreads asked Chris Malburg:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Chris Malburg I've written 27 books published by Simon, Putnam, McGraw, Wiley & Adams. Most all of these were sold before I ever wrote the book. The publishing contract and advances were all contingent on delivering the finished manuscript on a date specified in the pub contract. I didn't ever have the luxury of allowing writers block to stop my production.

But here's a tip: With my novels, before I finish work for the day I always draft a short outline of the production I want to begin with the next day. That way I hit the ground running.
