Goodreads asked Christine d'Abo:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Christine d'Abo I'm one of those authors who has to deal with a lot of random thoughts bouncing through my head. The question, "What if" is the best one I tend to ask myself.

For example, I'm a huge fan of HGTV shows. I love seeing not only the end result of other people's creativity, but I love to watch what goes on behind the scenes with contractors and designers. Being a romance writer, I couldn't help but notice how some of the male and female contractors would interact with one another. How hard was it for those women to get into a typically male-centric career? Then there was the TV show aspect. How would that change the interaction between the sexes?

What if a new designer and an experienced contractor were forced to work together on a show?

That question was the spark that set me on the path to writing NAILED.

As long as a writer has the ability to ask that question, I don't believe it's possible to run out of ideas to write about.
