I saw Inkheart's movie and I knew right away that I needed to read that book. Of course, I fell in love with Inkspell and I still have to read Inkdeath. I just want to know how did you get that amazing idea? People who can read and take characters out of books! It's so simple and so perfect and you don't know how badly I've been wishing to do that my whole life!

Cornelia Funke As you say, Rosangela: you've been wishing to do that all your life! I guess you mean: meeting the characters of a book?:) Crawling into it?! All of us book-Eaters feel that way! So the idea was quite obvious and I was so sure someone had told that story already. But HOW have them come out? I imagined them first stepping out being as small as a Lilliputian. O no, I thought. I want them to be like us! For that's what they are! The idea to have a human voice lure the characters out finally came from my love for that skill- to read aloud brilliantly is for me utter magic and makes the pages breathe in a way that often not even the moving images on screen can achieve.

Inkworld trilogy will always stay in my heart for it's the one and only series that I finished in a single sitting reading a book a day, and Reckless is one of my all time favorite series. As I'm also an avid fan of languages (with German as my 1st foreign language<3) so I'm curious: do you prefer writing everything primarily in German or do you also like to write directly in English?

Hi Cornelia. I always thought it was interesting how Capricorn as a villain gives way to the Adderhead as the antagonist of Inkspell and Inkdeath, rather than having a continuous Voldemort-esque force opposing Meggie etc. Did you originally plan to have Capricorn as the 'main' villain throughout all of the Ink series? Or did you plan for there to be a different villain for both the real world and the Inkworld?
