I saw Inkheart's movie and I knew right away that I needed to read that book. Of course, I fell in love with Inkspell and I still have to read Inkdeath. I just want to know how did you get that amazing idea? People who can read and take characters out of books! It's so simple and so perfect and you don't know how badly I've been wishing to do that my whole life!

As you say, Rosangela: you've been wishing to do that all your life! I guess you mean: meeting the characters of a book?:) Crawling into it?! All of us book-Eaters feel that way! So the idea was quite obvious and I was so sure someone had told that story already. But HOW have them come out? I imagined them first stepping out being as small as a Lilliputian. O no, I thought. I want them to be like us! For that's what they are! The idea to have a human voice lure the characters out finally came from my love for that skill- to read aloud brilliantly is for me utter magic and makes the pages breathe in a way that often not even the moving images on screen can achieve.

Hi Cornelia. First, I love your books! They've inspired me so much, so thank you. Onto the question. When I learned Inkheart was originally written in German, I was amazed. The language, the voice is so beautiful, and sometimes that beauty is lost in translation. I assume your translator is phenomenal, but I'm also curious, did you have a hand in the process? Thanks! As an aspiring writer, I end up writing a lot of material I'm not necessarily happy with the first, second, third, and even fourth time I take a shot at it. Have you ever published anything that you were completely happy with? And if not, how do you avoid writing something that you feel the need to rewrite?

Hello Cornelia, I know I'm stating the obvious, but i really do LOVE YOUR BOOKS A LOT . In fact, I'm so thankful to you, because the Inkheart trilogy is what got me started on reading (I'm a complete book nerd now). Here's my question: Which character did you enjoy writing the most in the Inkheart trilogy, which one is your favourite and which one do you identify with the most ? (<3 Dustfinger xD)
