Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Reece Butler Having done lots (and lots, and LOTS!) of historical research for my Highland Menage series, I knew the MacDougalls were once very powerful, but as they were feuding with the Bruce clan, they didn't support Robert the Bruce and so lost much of their land and most of their castles to the Campbell clan.

As King James VI was wanting all feuds to end, he would want this one to be stopped as well. So I in "Bedding The Enemy" I had the king marry Laird Somerled MacDougal to Lady Margaret Campbell by proxy. No one told Somerled as he would never have bedded the enemy Margaret if he'd known. But, of course, he found out...
