James Islington:
Hello I'm a huge fan of the series!!!! Is The Great Eastern Empire Asian influenced?? Will any characters be making their way over there?? Is there a rough release time for Book 2??
James Islington
Thank-you! I won't go into it too much but yes, the Eastern Empire is partly influenced by Asian (specifically Edo-period Japanese) culture. Probably won't see any of it in the trilogy beyond meeting some characters from there, but I certainly have related ideas for stories that I may do something with in the future.
Book 2's on track for the end of this / beginning of next year - if you want to check on how things are going at any point, I'm posting fairly regular updates over at: http://www.jamesislington.com/upcomin....

I have read all of your books and they’re all favourites of mine! I love the way you present and combine the magic systems, the lore and ideologies of your worlds, not to mention the political intrigues! Looking forward to The Strength of the Few, and just a curiosity of mine. In my native language Vis means “dream”; did you give this name to Diago on purpose as to reflect his otherness to the world he’s infiltrating?

Hi, James! Just read The Will of the Many this year after my friend recommended it to me and I was lucky enough to get an eARC of The Strength of the Few. I’ve never been more enamored and obsessed with a book series and its characters. Who are your top three characters you’ve written in the Hierarchy series?

Hey James, absolutely love The Will of The Many, probably my favourite book I've ever read. Whilst I do like the new redesign style, I can't help but feel that it's a step down from how incredible the original cover looks! Would love to know the reason behind the switch up and if you anticipate a "special edition" of The Strength of The Few to release matching the original style?
