Did you feel like because of your age and gender you were judged? like how the writer of the harry potter books made the intitials look like they could be a male or females book so that guys ,girls ,men, woman of all ages would read it instead of judging you to their veiw in the steryotypical world world of rating.

Alice Oseman i have always felt judged because of my age - by older readers and authors, by the media, etc. not always in a bad way, but yes, sometimes in a bad way. i often feel like some people don't take me and my writing very seriously because of it.

and yes, i am treated in a particular way as an author because i am a woman. if i were a man, there would not be a heart on the cover of my book and there would not be the words 'love story' in my tagline.
