Have you had to abandon many stories due to priorities or writers block?

Rhiannon Frater I have had to set aside some manuscripts due to contractual obligations with publishers. Sadly, The Lament of the Vampire Bride has been the one to get bumped more than once. I will write it, so I don't considered it abandoned.

I used to struggle with writer's block when I first started writing. After a while, I realized the cause. I was attempting to emulate the writing habits of others instead of developing my own. Once I accepted that I'm an organic writer and not a plotter, the blocks vanished.

Whenever a block occurs now, I read over what I've written to see if I missed something or maybe dropped a thread. Once I discover the misstep, the block vanishes.
