Goodreads asked Cynthia J. Faryon:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Cynthia J. Faryon write from your heart ... whether it's fiction or non-fiction, I'm never satisfied unless what I've written makes me cry... the editors can help me with the sentence structure and grammar, but I have to feel that emotional response... write for the love of writing... feed your curiosity... then get a publishing history.... I wrote articles for free papers and travel reviews for websites, and volunteered to write ads etc., so I could send publishers a list of published works in order to get my first book published... as soon as that book was published I volunteered to speak in schools, do readings in libraries and anywhere else they would have me... publishers publish books, but writers build their careers... never depend on someone else to do the work for you
