Wren
Wren asked Tommy Wallach:

Hi, I read you book and I thought it was amazing and I remember reading this quote about oblivion and I've been desperately looking through the book to find it and so far I have come to now avail. Have you any idea where it might be? I think it was in an Eliza chapter.

Tommy Wallach The only use of the word "oblivion" is on page 241 (I just did a search). It is a description of a small commemorative plaque: Just another little piece of utterly irrelevant history, aspiring to permanence, doomed to oblivion. The end of the world revealed the futility of all commemorative plaques.

But I'm guessing that's not what you meant?
