Hi Tommy. I really enjoyed We All Looked Up! I am a musician as well and also love writing! What is your best advice for people like me who have two strong passions but only one life to do both of them in? I know that a lot of people would say, “You have to pick one” but I could never do that. Hopefully you can ameliorate this this struggle for me!

Hey Abigail!
Sorry for the slow response. I've always been of the opinion that there are a LOT of hours in the day (before you have kids, at any rate (from what I hear)), and you don't have to choose. Plenty of writers are also serious musicians: Woody Allen, Steve Martin, Josh Ritter, Leonard Cohen, Charlie Chaplin, and a bunch more. In my case, the music has really helped the writing side of my career (in a purely professional sense), and vice-versa. So do both. Just don't waste a lot of time otherwise. :)

do you realize that atheism doesn't make you a better man ? you're the living proof of it. yes there have been countless wars because of religions. the same could be said about money still we don't see you writing essays about it. your essay was so far from being nuanced but you still probably thought it was a controversial idea when it's actually very conformist. what a disappointment.

I was wondering if you have any story ideas such as characters, items, or places that you've thrown out or given up on that I can use for one of my stories? The story that I'm thinking of is about an island where all story bits end up if they are thrown out or given up on. I've asked other authors so I can get a variety and some truth to the story. It's fine if you don't want to share any. Thanks. ~Hannah
