I'm one of those weird authors who actually prefer the revision process. It's much less scary than first drafting and I always feel like, "Okay, I've got this mess of a book, but at least it's already a book! Now I can fix it!"
That said, revisions can be a monster. And they seem totally overwhelming, especially right at the beginning. I try to compartmentalize what I need to do, grouping notes into sections and then attacking the sections separately. Some how, that makes it feel less daunting! And I also allow myself some leeway - the book is still going to be a mess for awhile, and that's okay!
