First, I would like to tell you that I am a huge fan of the Pushing the Limits series. I have had an interest in writing essays since I was 13 and as I grew I developed an interest in writing stories. My question is, what is your advice to young writers who are still trying to find themselves in terms of their writing style? And to those who doubt that they have it in them to write something good?
Katie McGarry
Hi Afaf,
Thank you for the question and for reading my books!
My advice to young writers is to not discount themselves because of their age. Write. Write some more. Keep writing. Study the craft of writing. My favorite craft book is John Truby's Anatomy of Story. My favorite online classes are by Margie Lawson (specifically on body language).
As for the doubt, ask any author and they'll tell themselves that they are constantly doubting their ability and the current story they are working on. You just have to push through the doubt.
I'm living proof dreams do come true. You can do this!

Hi, it's me Erin again!:) I was wondering how long have Chris and Lacy been dating before the start of Pushing the Limits? And also, how long did it take for Chris and also Chevy to ask Lacy and Violet out respectively? I remember in Dare You To, Chris and Lacy liked each other for a bit before they started dating.<3

Have you every wrote any stories about your characters after the books end even if you have no intention of publishing the stories? I was wondering of Rachel and Beth would ever be friends or Beth and Abby? What college does Beth go to and does she go to the same school as Ryan? Do you have a love interest in mind for Logan? Have you ever thought of writing a story about Rachel and West's parents?

Hi Katie. I'm an Italian reader. I often read in English too, every time it gets easier. I've read pushing the limits in Italian and really loved it. Hopefully the following books of that series will be released in Italian too. Anyway my very compliments, I love your style. Did you get a writer because you loved reading? Or was it the opposite? Whatever it was, please go on doing it. You're great!
