(view spoiler)[hey John, just finished malice and just have to say I love it.
Looking forward to buying valor as soon as possible to enter the world of imagination in ardan, tenebral and Domhain.
The question I have for you is this:
What inspiration did you have to move forwards in the keyboard-mangler business, besides your family's support, any point in particular?
Anyways, good luck and be well wishes from Norway^^ (hide spoiler)]

Hi Mikal, great to hear from you, all the way from Norway :) I'm so glad that you enjoyed Malice, and thank you for taking the time to let me know, I really appreciate that.
As for your question - what was my inspiration to write. I've recently written a guest blog on that subject, which I'll link in here for you:

The short version is that I started writing as a hobby about twelve years ago, a bit of me time amidst the whirl of life. Even that step was only made after some serious prodding from my wife and children. It still comes as a shock to me that Malice and Valour are real books, with covers and hardbacks and artwork! It's a dream come true. I'll let you read the article I've linked for the fuller story :)
Thanks again for getting in touch,
All the best,
John

Dear John, I am extremely unhappy with Malice and also Valor which I am about halfway through. I find myself wishing the day away and going to bed early just so I can get a few extra hours of reading in. I am also not getting enough sleep. These books are far too good and I want you to think seriously about my health when you write your next one. There are more, right?! Yours sincerely, Adam

Hi John, I just wanted to take a quick moment to say although I am new to reading your work, Malice was an astonishing tale that I was unable to put down, and kept dragging me deeper, and deeper. I look forward to continue reading your work and seeing how both you and your work grow. What are some of your favorite books from other authors? Thank you.

Hi. Just finishing reading Valour and, as Italian, I cannot help noticing that people from Tenebral are somewhat reminiscent of ancient Romans. Is this intended? Should we expect other reflections of real history in the series?
By the way, amazing books! Comparison with GoT is unnecessary, they are absolute masterpieces on their own right! Thank you!
