Hi John, I just wanted to take a quick moment to say although I am new to reading your work, Malice was an astonishing tale that I was unable to put down, and kept dragging me deeper, and deeper. I look forward to continue reading your work and seeing how both you and your work grow. What are some of your favorite books from other authors? Thank you.
John Gwynne
Hi Reid. It's great to hear from you. I'm so pleased that you enjoyed Malice, and thank-you for taking the time to let me know. I really appreciate that. I hope that you enjoy the rest of the series just as much. Just for your information, the fourth and final book of the series, titled WRATH, is published on 6th December in the US and Canada, 17th November in the UK.
Some books to recommend:
The Warlord Chronicles by Bernard Cornwell. It's his version of the King Arthur story, written as if it were history, so most of the magic is stripped away, though there are hints here and there. It's utterly brilliant, one of my favourite series.
The Traitor Son Cycle, by Miles Cameron. Brilliant medieval fantasy.
The Greatcoats series by Sebastien de Castell.
The Shadows of the Apt by Adrian Tchaikovsky.
Anything by Mark Lawrence and Joe Abercrombie.
Hope that helps.
Best,
John

I've read hundreds of books and Wrath is the only one I've ever gotten emotional and had tears run down my face while reading. It was when the whole gang was together in Drassil (I think) and they presented Corban with the arm band. These characters had just come so far together and built such strong relationships. I had to read the page twice. I loved the series so much, I've been chasing the dragon ever since. ?
