You are a plot mastermind. I have just discovered your work and as a paramedic I enjoy reading about science and guts and gore. Just finished Nocturnal, loved it. Where do you get the inspiration for the action sequences? Do you act them out with some buddies ahead of time? They are always very cool!

Hi Abby. Action sequences are fun for me. I try to act them out in my mind, and will often draw rough stick figure images to pace them out. I want to give enough detail that you see things happening, but not so much that you get bogged down with thoughts like: "Wait, his right hand hs where again? I have to go back and re-read."
As a devoted opponent of Hollywood's ridiculous "shaky-cam" trend, I'm trying to paint a picture that lets you see the flow of action.

Hi Scott, I'm looking very much forward to Alone, having enjoyed Alive and Alight a lot. I wonder, however, if there's a place where I could read detailed summaries of the previous 2 books, to refresh my memory? I know that you ask reviewers not to include spoilers, so it's hard to find a decent summary of either book :)
