Part of me thinks that an author should have an obligation to his fan base, especially when writing a series since each book is the continuation of this story that we have chosen to follow.

However, I also want the books to be good.

It's frustrating to have to wait 2, 3 (4, 5, 6 Rothfuss...) years but I would absolutely rather have to maybe wait longer than I would like for a book that is good and a true representation of the series I've grown to love rather something pushed out early just to appease impatient fans.(less)
