I've read the Wake trilogy about six or seven times now. I discovered the trilogy when I was in sixth grade and it really inspiried me to write. I'm now nearing the end of my junoir year and I'm still writing. I've been begging my mom to buy the Visions trilogy for a few weeks now. You said that you got the idea for the Wake trilogy because of a dream, and I was wondering what inspried everything with Captain?

Lisa McMann Hi! I'm so glad the WAKE trilogy was such an inspiration for you. Keep writing! As for Captain, her role came about because Janie and Cabel needed someone (an adult) in their lives they could really count on, but who also provided some authority, discipline, and a parental sort of love in their lives.
