Sounds silly, but making up stories! I love those moments when my mind is wandering through a world that I created, following characters that I birthed. When the story finally comes to fruition and I feel that it has a satisfying conclusion, it gives me a great sense of joy and accomplishment.
A very close second best thing is hearing how my stories have impacted other people. I am still a relatively new author, but when readers share the emotional journey they went on with my stories, it allows me to build a connection with them that I treasure.
