I really loved the relationship between Gran and Sookie. Gran was quite a woman. Did you model her after anyone you knew?

Charlaine Harris Not exactly, but I've known a number of surprising older women who were tied into their community in multiple ways, but still had original characters. Gran provided Sookie with stability in the years she needed it most.
