One more question, if you please. It is quite clear Max has a lot of you in her, but who inspired the Leon character? Or is it none of my business?

Jodi Taylor Great question! Leon was actually quite difficult to write. He had to be quiet and unassuming but still make an impact on the reader. He had to understand Max and let her have her head most of the time, but not be a wuss. And if he ever said to Max, 'No, I'd rather you didn't do this,' then she probably wouldn't because she trusts his judgement. He had to be flawed but have a good reason for those flaws. All that while still being good at his job, respected by everyone and sexy without being in your face about it. It's not always easy being a writer, you know!!
