Goodreads asked Daniel Quinn:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Daniel Quinn Writer’s block is a bogus ailment suffered by nonwriters and fictional writers. I've never heard of an actual writer who claimed to be suffering from it. Joseph Heller went eleven years without a book after writing Catch 22, but he never said he was "blocked" by anything. He just didn't have an idea – or any idea that seemed to be worth writing. Nonwriters like to say that they suffer from writer's block because it sounds better than "I don't have anything to to write." People who have something to write write. Those who don't don't. What do I do when I don't have anything to write? I look. I think. I suffer. Just like any other writer.
