Brian Setzler
Brian Setzler asked Daniel Quinn:

J.K. Rowling only had 1,000 copies of her first book published, after being rejected many times. When her 7th book was released, it sold 11 million copies in a single day! Keep up the work Daniel. How can we help get your books to a wider audience?

Daniel Quinn That’s a very good question, and I wish I had an answer as good. Rowling’s publisher was prepared (or at least semi-prepared) for this astounding reaction, mine won’t be. Ishmael, my best-selling book to date, was in print for twenty years before its accumulated sales reached a million copies. I believe my new book is going to generate a lot of reviewer interest, more than any of my other books—but not enough to move eleven million copies off book-store shelves on its first day. In the end, no publisher, not even Harry Potter’s, knows enough magic to make each and every book a best-seller. You ask how can you help. As soon as my next book is in print, order copies from your book-seller and urge him to put some in the window. Write a review for Amazon (five-star, of course), and tell all your friends. As for promoting my books in general, word-of-mouth works slowly, but it certainly works; it’s ultimately what made Ishmael a best-seller!
