Goodreads asked David Simms:

How do you get inspired to write?

David Simms Honestly, it all depends on the situation. When starting a new novel or story, I just open my senses to everything around me. I tend not to read or watch anything. Most of my ideas come to me while driving, walking, or daydreaming (kind of like watching the story as a movie in my mind). It usually works, but then again, I'm far from a millionaire so I still have a ton to learn!
When in the midst of a novel, like now, I just reread what I have written earlier and either get excited about what I've created and try to keep it flowing or get frustrated and attempt to correct whatever garbage I wrote previously.
The mind's eye is a very cool tool for me. Writing is very visual for me. Thanks for asking!!! Feel free to send another!
