hi my name is Mikayla and I would like to know how u started writing books?

Kayla Miller Hi, Mikayla! I knew I wanted to be an illustrator before I knew I wanted to be an author, so while I always wrote for fun in grade school and high school, I didn't start taking it seriously until I was in college studying illustration. I wanted to get better at making comics, so I started to write and illustrate a webcomic as a senior project and kept updating it after graduation. I also wrote and illustrated some short stories during that time to experiment with different stories and art styles. This helped me build up my skills until eventually a publisher approached me to ask if I wanted to write and illustrate a graphic novel for middle schoolers-- which is how the Click series started.
