Lois McMaster Bujold:
Does "Knife Children" put a wrap on the Sharing Knife series? I hope not. I was sad when the Vorkosigan series ended, but as much as I enjoyed it, it is the Sharing Knife series I turn to when the days get short and a cozy chair (with a blanket) is most appealing. Then I need my comfort books. I pull volume 1 off the shelf and read again how Fawn sparks new life in world-weary Dag. Such a great story.

Thank you for the kind words!
I have no idea if something more for The Sharing Knife will emerge in future. I have nothing for it at the moment. But then at the beginning of last October (2023), I'd have sworn I had nothing for Pen & Des, yet at the end of October I suddenly did, so who knows.

Lois McMaster Bujold:
Suggestion vs question: recently listened to Dunesteef's podcast of Scare Tactics, by Aeryn Rudel. Our world, woman has a demon entrapped in a giant Raggedy Ann doll, communicates with it while helping rid places of fake (or in one case real) spirits. Kept thinking of Penric and Des the whole time. I wonder if the author is also a Penric fan? Amusing listen, anyway.

Des is keeping Penric young(ish) but I'm assuming that while she might be able to slow his aging and keep him healthy, she would not be able to extend him past the assumed human maximum of 125. In the end it still feels like it would be hard on him to outlive everyone important in his life except Des. How do you imagine she will handle his feelings of loss and possible depression? And how will she handle losing him?

I just read this in my local paper and I wondered what your thoughts were: "Opinion: Publishers are blocking your access to e-books at local libraries?" https://www.oregonlive.com/opinion/2019/10/opinion-publishers-are-blocking-your-access-to-e-books-at-local-libraries.html
