Hi Ms. Nielsen! I just recently finished the first draft of my novel and I’m working on editing. Do you have any tips?

Jennifer A. Nielsen Hi Ellie - Congratulations! I'd imagine by now you've already well moved on to editing, so you probably have some ideas of your own. But when I edit, I don't try to fix everything in one pass - there's too much to pay attention to. So I start from the outside and move in. First comes the major issues, and then things like characters, dialogue, then descriptions, then down to the examination of individual sentences and words. It takes a few passes to do this, but I find far more of the problems this way. Good luck!
