I'm currently working on the Reader's Guide for THIS I KNOW, my debut novel that will release on April 24, 2018. I'm also deep in the editing and revisions of the next book, due out the following year. Both are coming-of-age stories that take place in the 1960's & 70's but the settings couldn't be more diverse. THIS I KNOW is set in a small Midwestern town and features a gifted little redhead born into a Baptist preacher's family. Sprinkled with magical realism, the book touches on themes of postpartum depression, sisters, family relationships and the special bond between twins.
My work-in-progress is a bit of THE GLASS CASTLE meets WALDEN. Set in a Northern California commune and narrated by a young boy grappling with invisible loyalties, it's a study in the differences between family and tribe and whether love is earned or deserved.
