Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?

Eldonna Edwards I'm going to cheat a little on this answer and give you my favorite "literary" couple, Baroness Blixen and Denys Finch-Hatton from OUT OF AFRICA. The book is actually a memoir of the author's years on a coffee plantation. Although the love relationship is merely implied, I love how the friendship between Blixen and FInch-Hatten develops and deepens over time. I tend to enjoy characters who are strong and independent rather than those who are needy or need to be rescued. The story is both beautiful and tragic, one that carries you to Kenya and almost makes you feel as if you lived there yourself.
