Hello! I was wondering about your short story The Bone Knife...are you thinking of turning it into a full book one day? I read and LOVED it a while back and the story never fully left my booklover heart! I was just a little confused on your plans for the story. Thank you so much! -Megan

Hi Megan!
I am so thrilled that you enjoyed The Bone Knife ... and I'm not surprised that you're a little confused about my plans. I'm a little confused myself! :)
My original plan had been to release a companion novel to Thorn featuring Rae. When I set off to write that novel, it turned into three novels of variable length. That seemed okay too. But when I went to revise the novels, I hit a wall. I spent about six months making almost no headway before I switched over to working on Sunbolt. I love Rae, and I love what I have of her novel(s). I'm currently working on the sequel to Sunbolt, and after that I'm planning to come back to Rae.
The truth is that, although I had the drafts of her story, I didn't feel that I had quite found the heart of her story yet. And without that, it just wasn't working. Rae has been talking to me for two years straight now, just little conversations now and then at the back of my head, little scenes that change a little bit here and a little bit there, and I think I'm almost ready to dive back in and give it another try. You can follow my author newsletter via my website to get more updates--or always just check in with me here!
I do promise that I am planning to give her Rae her due. I just have to be able to get it right.
Happy holidays!

Hi! I wanted to say that I really enjoyed reading Thorn - never expected to see a rewrite, as I'd read the indie novel a long time ago, but it was a really pleasant surprise! I was wondering if we'll be seeing more of Stonemane and the Fair Folk in future stories, maybe in The Theft of Sunlight? If you can answer that :-)

Hello! I can't tell you how much I love your books! I have read Thorn three times. Your books have been a great gift for me. I have a few questions . . . 1. Did you have the plots for Theft of Sunlight and Darkness at the Door in mind when you began writing Thorn? 2. Do you have favorite re-imagined fairytales by other authors? 3. Are you planning to write any more books in the Dauntless Path series?
