I love these books. I worked in a Police Dept. and I knew a young man in Packard's position and as far as I know, I was the only one he told he was gay. I look forward to many more books about Packard. Can you please explain what a pull-tab is when you talk about them opening a bar with pull-tabs? I assume you're not talking about pull tabs used to open cans of beer? Is this a game of chance perhaps? Thank You.

Joshua Moehling Ila, thanks for this comment and question. I'm not surprised he wasn't more out. Police departments can be very conservative institutions. In MN pull-tabs are charitable gambling. A lot of the money raised goes to fund youth sports or community programs. Here's a video that shows what pull-tabs look like. I'm referring to the paper ones in my book.
