Hello, I was wondering...did you write the short stories that were included at the end of your books (in the audiobooks)? In the Ascendance Series, there were stories about Conner's thoughts in TFP and Jaron's daughter in the last book. But you mentioned this not being your canon in a previous question.

I did write them, but if something in a short story disagrees with anything in the books, the books win.

The Scourge really relates to this world pandemic rn, The False Prince series makes me wish there were ppl just like your characters especially Jaron(too smart-you cant mix education with intelligence) and if I shifted into their world I would ask Roden to teach me sword fighting;)I love the brave, tomboyish girl characters- I would try out for Aurelia if they made a movie.

I’m currently reading The Shadow Throne and I have recently FALLEN IN LOVE with the Ascendance books. I have a writing question. How do you pick the names of your characters? Are they based on real people you know, or do you just think of them yourself? Also, how do you come up with ones like Sage and Mott that are names I’ve never heard before? I’m really curious because I think you’ve done an amazing job.
