Between the persistent gate and the glacial and greenhouse earths, they have created geothermal without drilling(except interdimensionally). They could save billions earthside. Also access to both of those would be a HVAC source outland?

Had you come across the concept of an Outcome Pump before you wrote your short story "Feedback", or is it something you thought of yourself? I am specifically wondering if you were inspired by an article by Eliezer Yudkowsky called "The Hidden Complexity of Wishes" in which he described a time machine which automatically resets time until a desired outcome occurs.
