I am not certain, but I think they consider themselves immortal because they don't grow old. At least they do, but it takes a very very very long time, as for Jude, a mortal, is lucky to live 100 years. To the Faes, it is a fleeting moment that means nothing, like how a bug could only live two weeks compared to us.
