Hello, i just read the first tome of the demon cycle and it has been the most enjoyment i got from a book since a long time. I wanted to thank you for coming here and explaining more about why you wrote the famous controversial scene the way you did. I was a bit thrown away after reading it, but it made much more sense with your explanations. I'm going back to book 2 now and hope to see you one day in France maybe ?
Peter V. Brett
Thanks so much! I hope to visit France again soon, but I will be in Luxembourg this weekend for Luxcon, and hope to see some French readers there. I will be signing books for Bragelonne, so there should be some autographed copies available in France in the coming weeks.

At the end of Skull Throne it seemed every queer character was dead, revealed to be treacherous/evil, or both. I went from feeling great about the representation in the book to feeling gutted. The "shocking" reveals and the totality of it all left me cold. Was this to punish queerness itself via the narrative as some authors do, thoughtlessness, or what? Will the next book be markedly different?

I saw that people are Communicating through this question field.... I really love the Saga and your ideas are really brillant. Im really glad that you created a cool character like arlen (not Coward and all). His character Development is just Amazing and i am counting on you to continue being brilliant :) no pressure please . But here a question. How many books will this series have?

Hi Peter, My question is less for just Peter V. Brett and more for authors in general but I think you are still qualified to answer. The norm for fantasy novels has long been hefty series of thick books and aggravating wait periods between releases. Why don't more authors write shorter works and have more releases akin to a television series? Still being able to tell the same story just in more 'chunks'.
