You can buy "Before the King's Daughters" from the American-French Genealogical Society (Woonsocket, RI). Click on "Other Books and Publications" in their online shop (https://afgs.org/site/shop/). They also offer a certificate program for both the Filles du Roy and Filles à Marier, if that interests you.
I'll have to check out and possibly correct that Amazon entry. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Dear Mr. Gagne, As a descendant of Mme. Marguerite Sauvoit and Jacques Mousseau, I was fascinated to read your book on the “Filles a Marrier”. The women who were married that day were special and I feel the event should be recorded in a painting, even possibly a series of paintings. This was such a momentous occasion in the history of Montreal. Do you know of any paintings created to mark the occasion?

How can I get a copy of the index you authored for the 30 book set "Our French-Canadian Ancestors" in English? I have seen it in a library. I began collecting the books two years ago, and later bought the digital copy of 30 books, but there is so much information even in the other books, that I would love to be able to find these bits on my ancestors when they come up in other people's story. Thanks!

My many times over great grandmother; Jeanne Voidy Demers was a filles a marier. She arrived in New France in the year 1653 with recruits from LaFleche, France.
