Can someone explain the ending to me? Was bret the Trawler? Even in part? Who was in the van? I was enthralled by this book, but baffled by the ending. In hind sight I can see where the narrator seemed disturbed, not just earnest. I feel like Ryan’s perception of him being too much, too intense was a huge (maybe?) hint. But I don’t know. HELP!
