Over the time they know each other, Sadie sometimes betrays Sam and Sam sometimes betrays Sadie. Is one character worse to the other over the course of the book? Or do you see things as essentially evening out between the two of them?

Even after their early rift over her hospital "community service hours," he made the move to reconnect & literally pulled her back to life after her first Dov breakup. Emotionally, he always gave her everything he was capable of, while she ran hot & cold toward him over petty resentments, & eventually chose Marx to the exclusion of any relationship with Sam. I don't think there's any way of those "things evening out." (less)
