I wonder where you get your ideas and inspiration, do you have 'wow' moments and have to jot the fabulous idea down immediately or is the story just there in your mind. I have written one novel which is in the finishing stages of being 'done' and I have another that's at 2nd draft stage, both of these just 'came' to me, I didn't really think 'what shall I write about.' ?

Jojo Moyes Then you're lucky, Dawnymarie! I find it varies every time, but usually there's something in my head - an idea or a character or an issue - that won't go away. I usually turn it over in my head for a while until I can see whether it will work as a book.
