I really liked this book. It is probably one of the best books I've read this year. The story is great and the way it is layered makes for an interesting and compelling read. Any one else like this book, a lot?

Judy Lindow I loved it. Please read my review!
Letha I just finished this book and rather liked it despite the dampener of various reviews I read prior to getting my hands on the book; a solid 4 for holding my interest even though many of the reviews were almost 'spoilers'. I kept imagining that I was reading the book without having read any reviews and within that context it was a fascinating and ambitious structure that I felt the author pulled off on the whole. I know enough about (but am by no means an expert) finance and music to to follow the interweaving of these concepts and the literary reference (and mimicked style of Part 1 and 2) was the icing on the cake for Wharton and James fans like me. And yes it leaves you with lingering thoughts on where we are today
Nancy I like d it a lot. It made me think deeply about the state of being that those of us have who are so rich that they look upon the world as a panoramic scene made just for them including their wives. The attitude toward money that Diaz described seemed like satire to me, but that is the super rich God complex. The relationships, being what they were, gave me chills except the loving relationship between Ida and her father. It was also a great mystery.
