"The World of the Five Gods" seems a bit of a mouthful, hasn't anyone suggested Pentheon (penta+theon, and also a play on pantheon) instead? Sorry if this has been suggested, but if Goodreads has a way of searching "ask the author" posts, I haven't managed to find it.

Lois McMaster Bujold Heh. I agree with you as to the unwieldiness of the series name. (Some fans abbreviate it "5GU" for "five gods universe" in casual posts, but I felt that was not identifier enough for the uninitiated; also I have not yet committed to my theological world-building extending beyond one planet.) "Pentheon" is amusing and succinct, but might make for some confusion with respect to one of my protagonist's names.

Not that there aren't people named things like "Theophilus" or "Theodosia" in real life...

I love the character of Nikys, and I'd be happy to read of her again in whatever way Lois wants to do it. Characters do change, if the fiction is any good. I've liked some of Lois' books better than others, but they're all good. I admire her choice of a middle-aged woman as adventuring protagonist in Paladin of Souls. Could her weaving could be part of a story line for Nikys? I'm sure Lois has plenty of ideas already.

Hi, my turn to ask a question so food. Can you remember what an "Oil Cake" is supposed to be ? Mountains of Mourning breakfast AND after Caz's breakfast before collecting Laundry in Curse of Chalion. The dictionary doesn't help and nor do the recipe pages give a likely answer. Could be just a cake' fried in oil I suppose ?
